About Us

Dear friends,

Hello and welcome to the Love Begins at Home blog! We are an intimate Catholic marriage and family blog set apart to enrich and foster the Domestic Church. Created by Adam and Nina, we are bringing together stories from other Catholics who are joyfully living out their call to marriage and family life. We are just like you, men and women, joined in the Sacrament of Marriage welcoming new life into our families. Join us in our journey! We would love to hear your story too.

Our prayer for this blog is that each post will be like a letter from a dear friend. One whom you confide your fears, ups, and downs in life all realizing that God is guiding us through this journey. Our hope is that when you read each post you will be able to connect with new friends in Christ as you sip a cup of coffee or tea and are filled with the good, true, and beautiful. We pray that by sharing these letters with you as we journey through marriage and family life you may find encouragement and we may be encouraged by all of you as well! We also pray that through these writings God may be glorified.

The name of this blog, Love Begins at Home, is inspired by St. Mother Teresa. She was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 and during her acceptance speech she said this, “Love begins at home, and it is not how much we do, but how much love we put in the action that we do… I want you to find the poor here, right in your own home first. And begin love there.” These inspiring words are memorable, especially the phrase “love begins at home.” This phrase could almost be a Rule of Life as we learn to love our families more deeply. May the Holy Family teach us best!

Most importantly, we pray that as this blog grows we may constantly turn to the most perfect family, the Holy Family. May Mary the perfect wife and mother teach us women how to love our husbands and children as she does. May St. Joseph the most chaste spouse teach us men how to lay our lives down for our wives and children. Most importantly may Jesus guide our very beings, including our words and deeds. May He reign in the center of our homes and hearts! This blog is placed within the hands of the Holy Family and we ask for their intercession for these writings always.

I am all thine, and all that I have is thine, O most loving Jesus, through MaryThy most holy and Immaculate Mother” St. Louis Marie de Montfort.

Lastly, the aim of this blog is as St. Anthony Mary Claret said, “O my God, I give Thee my word that I will labor, preach, write and circulate good books and pamphlets in abundance, so as to exterminate evil by good.” As daughters, sons, wives, husbands, mothers, and fathers may we and our families be lights within the world circulating good writings in abundance, so as to exterminate evil by good!

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” John 1:5.

Thank you for visiting and please feel more than free to reach out! Send us your prayer intentions as well because it would be a gift for us to pray for you. Know that we are praying for each of you already!
